Changes to Nevada Minimum Wage

Hi, I'm the QuickBooks Gal. Today's Quicklet is a reminder to those of you who process your own payroll that on July 22, 2007 the new Federal Minimum Wage Law took effect. There are several guidelines that we employers should be aware of now in order to assure proper compliance. In addition, many state or local statutes may have been revised, so you might want to check with your state's labor commission regarding the new Federal guidelines and any additional state regulation that may apply. Here in Nevada, state minimum wage regulations are impacted by a law that became effective on July 1, 2007. If you do not use a payroll company such as ADP , Odyssey Business Services , or Payroll Systems of Nevada , you should make sure that you understand the new statutes with particular regard to how hourly overtime is calculated in order to assure that you are in compliance.
