QuickBooks Online is here to make running your business faster and easier. Which is why there is a Pre-Fill option for QuickBooks Online To turn on this feature: Gear > Company Settings > Advanced > Pre-fill forms with previously entered content If you create a check to a certain vendor, such as QB Doc, you enter the account and the description and press Save and New. Then you create another check for QB Doc again, the same information will appear and all you have to change is the amount on the check! If Pre-Fill option was turned off you would have to re insert all the information again. Does your business work with clients around the world? Do you want to have clients from around the world? QuickBooks Online allows you to work with multiple currencies so you can track all transactions no matter where they are from! To turn on multicurrency: 1. From the COMPANY tab select CURRENCY CENTRE 2. Click SET UP CURRENCIES From there you can assign a currency to new customers, new suppliers, and new bank, credit card and creditor accounts.  IMPORTANT Once multicurrency is on, it cannot be turned off. After you assign a currency to something, like a customer or a business account, it cannot be changed back.  QuickBooks Online allows you to work anytime, anywhere as long as you have internet connection! New in all versions of QuickBooks for 2015 is the ability to organize items in the Reminders Preference to view in a simplified list which conveniently groups today's tasks and reminders separate from upcoming reminders. As you can see in the figure on the right side above, today's reminders are on one side, and the upcoming reminders are on the opposite side.  That's way better than in prior versions of QuickBooks.   Notice that each portion of the reminder window has a number in parenthesis which represents the total number of items associated with each section.  Click on each section to expand the view to show every item, or click again to show the summary view. One other feature that is particularly nice is the ability to add a 'to do' right from the reminders window simply by clicking the plus (+) icon.  That's 'way cool'. QuickBooks has a new update! Below are just a few of the things that have changed! Bank rules:  Create rules to scan bank items for certain details, and then assign specific payees and categories to them.  To get started, go to Transactions > Banking > Update > Manage rules (upper right corner) Send later:  A Send later checkbox now appears on invoices, estimates, sales receipts, credit memos, and related recurring transactions. This lets you change whether you want an individual form to be added to your send queue.  To get started, go to Create (+) > Invoice/Estimate/Sales Receipt/Credit Memo. Sometimes you end up having multiple bills to pay for just a single vendor. This is the best way to pay them all at once through QuickBooks! Example: You have two bills that need to be payed for a vendor: Create (+) > Bill > August 14: $235.19 Create (+) > Bill > August 18: $182.43 To save you and the vendor time, you can make one payment that applies to both bills. Below are step by step directions on how to pay one vendor through QuickBooks! Click Create (+) > Expense 1) Enter the payee name/company. 2) Choose a payment account. Bills that are open for this vendor appear on the right. 3) Click Add all to add both bills. 4) Click Save. Now you have payed all your bills for that vendor! Got a QuickBooks Mess? How to set up sales tax in QuickBooks Online Add a tax rate and agency Click  Add/edit tax rates and agencies  in the Related Tasks list to the right. Click  New  and select either a single tax rate or a combined rate. Enter a name for the rate, the agency you pay the tax to, and the percentage for the rate. Use a single rate if you pay just one rate to a single agency. Click  Save . The new rate appears in the  Sales Tax  Rate and Agencies List. You'll see the new rate in forms like invoices and sales receipts. You can edit a tax rate or tax name once you've added it. With QuickBooks for Mac 2014 you can transfer your data to the new QuickBooks Online! In QuickBooks for Mac, choose QuickBooks > Check for QuickBooks Updates and update to the latest revision. After the update finishes and you restart QuickBooks, choose File > Export > To QuickBooks Online. Then, once QuickBooks successfully copies and import your data, QuickBooks will send you an email. Here are a few tips for a smooth start to QuickBooks! Always back up: There is no such thing as too many back ups, always back up after each session.  You can back  up to a network drive, external drive, CD, or to the Intuit Data Protect service. Before you do  anything in QuickBooks that you’re are unfamiliar with, make a backup, and then move forward. Memorized Report List : Whenever you change the settings for a report, you can record those changes by saving the  report in the Memorized Report list. Then when you want to create a similar report, you can just  go to the Memorized Report list to reuse those settings. Add your favorites to the icon bar!
