Hi, I’m Jayne Miller, the QuickBooks Gal . Welcome to another in our series of “ Quicklets” –informational podcasts about QuickBooks, Peachtree, Microsoft Office Accounting and related bookkeeping topics. Don't forget that you can listen to our archived podcasts at blog.quickbooksgal.com. I recently received an email from one of our listeners, Debbie in the Virgin Islands. Debbie asked if she can "upgrade" her QuickBooks data from Enterprise Solutions version 5.0 to QuickBooks Pro 2007. Additionally, she would like to move from PC to Mac. Changes to Nevada Minimum Wage

Image
Hi, I'm the QuickBooks Gal. Today's Quicklet is a reminder to those of you who process your own payroll that on July 22, 2007 the new Federal Minimum Wage Law took effect. There are several guidelines that we employers should be aware of now in order to assure proper compliance. In addition, many state or local statutes may have been revised, so you might want to check with your state's labor commission regarding the new Federal guidelines and any additional state regulation that may apply. Here in Nevada, state minimum wage regulations are impacted by a law that became effective on July 1, 2007. If you do not use a payroll company such as ADP , Odyssey Business Services , or Payroll Systems of Nevada , you should make sure that you understand the new statutes with particular regard to how hourly overtime is calculated in order to assure that you are in compliance. I've put a link on my blog for Nevada employers who want more information on the new state regulation...

Today’s topic is Backing up Data In QuickBooks® Today, I’m going to talk about backing up your data in QuickBooks. This is probably the most important task in the bookkeeping/accounting process. Microsoft® Windows XP includes an integrated CD Writing Wizard as part of the operating system. Important : After backing up in QuickBooks, you must then use the Windows XP CD Writing Wizard to actually write the file to yo...
